Thanksgiving is approaching, and it can be tricky to plan a menu that will satisfy those with food allergies, and those without.

If you’re cooking for a crowd, and some members of that crowd are used to traditional dishes, you might be nervous about planning a big meal for everyone. You want to keep your family safe and keep everyone happy.

I thought I’d share some top 8 allergen free Thanksgiving recipes with you today! These are recipes that I make pretty much every year.

My son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame, and my other son is sensitive to gluten, and my brother is vegan. So that pretty much covers all the top allergens! I’m used to cooking without all of those ingredients, and we don’t feel like we’re missing out on anything at all during the holidays.

I hope you find some recipes in this list that will work for your family!

Appetizers

We don’t make a lot of appetizers for Thanksgiving because there is just so much food! But we do make Chex mix, and these other recipes are great for other holiday gatherings.

Nut Free Chex Mix – This is everyone’s favorite thing to snack on at a party! Crunchy, salty, and savory, this is always a hit.

Easy Vegan Cheeseball – Your guests will never guess that this extra flavorful cheeseball is dairy free. This is so delicious and spreads so well on crackers.

Crispy Gluten Free Oatmeal Crackers – It’s shockingly easy to make your own crackers. And it’s a lot cheaper, too! You will want to make a few batches of these if your family is anything like my family!

Red Pepper White Bean Dip – We love this easy bean dip with tortilla chips or fresh veggies. The red peppers add a lot of color to this appetizer.

How to Prepare a Turkey

Turkey – I follow the instructions on the turkey packaging, but I place a lemon and an apple inside for moisture and flavor (slice both fruits in half). I also put vegan buttery spread under the skin with fresh herbs like rosemary and sage, and then rub more buttery spread on top of the skin. Bake according to package directions, or consult this post from Butterball.

Side Dishes

The Best Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes – It’s really easy to make delicious dairy free mashed potatoes with non-dairy milk and vegan buttery spread. No one will be able to tell the difference!

Easy Gluten Free Gravy – This classic gravy is very easy to make, and it can be customized according to your family’s dietary needs.

Nut Free Vegan Sweet Potato Casserole – This was a favorite dish of my mom’s. She didn’t even like sweet potatoes too much, but she loved this casserole! The crunchy oat topping is delicious.
