Do you love Star Wars? Are you obsessed with the franchise’s adorable characters, like Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda) and R2-D2? Well, this Valentine’s Day, you can make your own Star Wars Valentine Boxes!

You or your little Padawans will love collecting their Valentines in a box decorated with one of the most adorable Star Wars characters of your choosing. You could even make one Grogu box and one R2-D2 box since these two kings of cute have now met in Season 2, Episode 8 (“Chapter 16: The Rescue”) of The Mandalorian.

Lucky for us, we found the Grogu Valentine box instructions from Fun Money Mom’s website, and R2-D2 Valentine box instructions are from The Joy of Boys website. Thanks to these two awesome crafters/wielders of The Force, you can make two cuteStar Wars boxes. Read the instructions below to get started! This is the way.

Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda) Valentine Box

Let’s start with Grogu, the cutest Jedi of them all! This would look cute on a desk in a child’s classroom, on your kitchen table, or placed on a front porch for ‘Valentine mail’. Though Jedi’s aren’t really supposed to form attachments, Grogu’s father-son bond with Din Djarin is unmatched, and a perfect example of love this Valentine season!

So, whether you are waiting for a Valentine from a friend or a secret admirer, Grogu can hold onto it for you. Just don’t ask for any eggs, macaroons, frogs — or, any food really. Here’s what you need to do to create your very own Grogu Valentine Box.

This DIY is from Fun Money Mom and you can visit the original DIY page here.

Materials

Tools

  • Scissors

  • Pencil

  • Exacto knife

  • Hot glue gun

  • Glue sticks

Instructions

1. Glue cereal box shut at the top and wrap it in white craft foam or construction paper. I used foam because I had a lot of it but construction paper is cheaper and easier.

2. Use an Exacto knife or box cutter to make the hole in the top for Valentine’s Cards (this would be a job for mom or dad!)

3. Print tracers for Grogu.

4. Trace each shape onto craft foam following the color suggestions on the tracers. Because the head is so wide, you’ll have to put both pieces side by side.

5. Cut out all pieces and begin gluing them to the box. Don’t worry about the top of the coat matching up exactly with the head. Once you add the piece around the next, it’s not visible.

6. Add “fur” to the top of Grogu’s coat.

7. Glue the rest of the pieces to Grogu’s head. There are no tracers for the nose, mouth or small reflection on the eyes because those are so small that it’s easier just to cut them out freehand.

8. Now all this Grogu Valentine box needs are some matching Grogu Valentine cards (download the free printable PDF of some Baby Yoda Valentines here, also from Fun Money Mom).

R2-D2 Valentine Box

If you would rather stick to classic Star Wars cuties, there is also a DIY Valentine box that looks like R2-D2. Or, if you want to make Grogu a buddy to help collect Valentines, this is also the perfect DIY for you!

Let’s face it: Grogu and R2-D2 will probably be best buddies soon, so we might as well help them out. Celebrate the start of a beautiful friendship and make this R2 Valentine Box. This little droid has an attitude, but he sure knows how to keep important cargo safe — just ask Princess Leia if you don’t believe me! Let R2-D2 keep your Valentines safe from the Sith, the First Order, the Resistance, and all the other Star Wars baddies out there. Here are the DIY instructions from The Joys of Boys. You can visit the original DIY page here. This DIY is as easy as hacking the Death Star with R2!
